Trouble updating itunes on windows xp dating oekraine

I'm at a loss on what to do to re-update my laptop, which runs Windows XP, SP2 I believe.

var microsoft = microsoft

(It's an oldy but a goody, lol.) I tried to redo my updates yesterday, but I ran into some problems which I never encountered before.

I would have to manually force the page to close using alt-control-delete.

I tried saving the update to my desktop and running it that way, but that didn't work either.

I've also tried to do an new install and receive the same message when the install attempts to remove the old files resident on the hard drive. The path 'C:\Documents and Setting\[user name]\Local Settings\Application Data\Apple\Apple Software Update\i Tunes.msi' cannot be found.

Verify that you have access to this location and try again, or try to find the installation package \i Tunes.msi' in a folder from which you can install the product i Tunes.(1) Download the Windows Installer Clean Up utility installer file (msicuu2.exe) from the following Major Geeks page (use one of the links under the "DOWNLOAD LOCATIONS" thingy on the Major Geeks page):
